Most memorable would be...Phil Masinga. And his goal to get South Africa to the 1998 World Cup.Favourite player though, Portugal’s Ricardo Quaresma

You grew up in a country where “soccer” isn’t the number 1 sport, how does it differ from in England?
Soccer is the number 1 game by numbers in South Africa, just not by Financial backing.
I’d say most people play football through to about age 12, and then stop, pursuing Rugby, Cricket etc. Similar story for me, although I picked up again when I was about 21.
Being a South African, when do you think there will be an African World Cup Winner?
I am a dreamer, always back every African team in every game. Much to my disappointment most days. Super Eagles in 1994 (3-2 against Spain) was special. Sunday Oliseh’s Goal was a peach. Ghana were close, but I doubt there will be an African World Cup for some time. Perhaps post 2050. That’s only 7 world cups away roughly so I’m actually being optimistic here.
