Yep, it's close to 1 year since the idea of FC7 was born. I feel we have achieved all our goals and more......and this is just the beginning.
- We've created a regular weekly game
- Upped our membership
- Created a friendly environment for people to have a casual game of footy
- Off the field, we have used technology to create a better/easier way to organise and play games
- We have over a 1000 followers on Instagram, over a 1000 views on our new YouTube channel and the Blog goes from strength to strength.
The social media side of it, these are not a huge thing for us, ultimately, but it's about the whole package. We're giving our players everything we can to give them a positive experience. Some or all of our players may not be get into it at all, but others might, and it's a great scrapbook of our time so far, which over the months and years, gathers more and more sentimental and nostalgic value.
- We've tried to raise awareness of great and needy causes
- We have made plans going into our 2nd year, for another 2nd weekly game. We want to give something to the hardcore ballerz who want a more competitive edge to their games, you can read elsewhere on the blog about that. We have the building blocks in place but we're just tweaking the overall plan, but we're on track to go all guns blazing in July '21.
- Wow, we even got our 1st kit together, so we actually "WEAR THE BLACK". Hitches have been present though, our main kit supplier were hit by Brexit, so we currently can't order anything. Hopefully it will be resolved in the future. But for now we have struck up a collab with EV2 Sportswear, who will be providing us with our Anniversary Kit. The original FC7 kits are great, something to wear, week in week out, but I'm sure all our players, and followers will agree, there's more meaning to our Anniversary kit. Nods to the past, while firmly looking to the future. Check back as we will be showing some more details on this.
All this was during a Global pandemic brought about by the Covid-19 virus. We experienced national lockdowns for the 1st time, which put paid to any actual football being played, when the lockdowns ended, we got down to the nitty gritty and surfed the green turf again. We might not of won many games yet, but if we carry on the trajectory we are taking off the field, then we will surely see progress.
We've mentioned the Anniversary Kit. We also plan to have an 8-a-side game at Archbishop's Park in central London, in the shadow of the London Eye. It's said to be one of the best 3G pitches in London, so an apt venue to kick-off the celebrations. Next on the agendum is a big drink up. C'mon we deserve it!
Not just to celebrate everything we have achieved at FC7 but to herald in the next year for OUR club, catch-up with friends and LOOK FORWARD at last. We will never forget where we came from, or the reasons we started however.
We've set in stone frameworks and processes, which means we can start focussing on our on the field woes. Maybe 1 day, we'll join a league and start bossing it......well, let's just get that 2nd game up and running first and take the rest step by step, eh, haha.
Stay tuned for more news!
