Football is Coming Home; it was only ever just waiting for us…...
We promised to create a legacy....here's what we have done so far (check out the video below), read a little about the background to it and what we have planned for the future underneath:-
After Luca’s Charity game last year, we made a promise to his family to create a legacy in his name. Alessandra likes to keep up to date on our progress and only this week, said to pass on her heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for what we're trying to do.
It’s also exactly 1 year on, from my own personal journey, both these events remind me to put our current problems into perspective, life’s really too short, embrace every second of it, the sunshine…… AND the rain.
We created FOOTBALLCLUB SE7EN (FC7), so we could add a story and document our journey. Stopped in our tracks by lockdown, it only made us more determined & with all the extra time on our hands & support from many, we endeavoured to make good on that promise!
Under the govt’s Organised Sport ruling, outside footy has been given the official go-ahead for a safe return (even under Tier 3). We’ve been testing it out, the last few weeks to check the standards and it’s very Covid-Secure (but only you can decide if you’re comfortable with it).
We even won our 1st game last week!
Things coming up, I hear you ask?
We have plenty, we've really been turning the screw on our weekly games, upping the numbers and getting some new starters from work involved. No one wants to start at a company from home in solitude, so it's been nice to see some of our new starters face-to-face. We're approaching 10 players now, so it really makes the experience more fun.
Our fitness is WAYYYYY below par, but it can only ever improve week by week, but once we are all up to our peak physical condition (100 yrs from now ha), we have a few things planned, so if any of it appeals to YOU, sign up details are further below:-
- Upping our weekly numbers, having FUN, getting FIT & playing FOOTBALL
- Joining a league, maybe early next year, we've had plenty of offers
- Weekend Charity Tournaments (currently on-hold due to Covid-19)
- Remember Clarion Events, the company across the road from FitFlop, we're arranging a game with them, so should have that in the calendar soon. Local bragging rights and pride at stake here people!
- We have options for Mixed Footy, including fun nights and even a mixed and Women's League, but we need some regular female participants, which we will work on. If you're a woman and think this could be a fun way to get fit and make friends, get involved and sound it out to your girlfriends, the more the merrier. Football really is for everyone!

We use a company called Footy Addicts to play our games. It makes organising kickarounds so much more easier. It also means our matches come under the govts "organised team sport" ruling and the strict standards and track/trace are fully implemented by them.
