We're in another lockdown for 4 weeks in Great Britain. But that'll only stop you, if you are of the negative mind. Way too much moaning about life going on right now. Do something about it, or you'll look back on it one day and realise you wasted it.
So for Week 1 of lockdown, we've just completed a STEPS Challenge at work. Managed to clock around 15,000 steps on average a day, so all of this has got to help with football in terms of fitness and endurance. I'm hoping to start some light weight training next week, just to build up some core strength, which again, should help with my personal game. I know the rest of the team have plans too. Life's what you make it, you can't return to football and moan and groan about how unfit you are, when you did sod all during this enforced break !!
We thought about it, and it actually seemed to make sense to book in our next game for the 3rd December. There's no loss in it. We can pull out if needs be 48 hours in advance, and if the lockdown is extended, then the game is cancelled anyways and refunds processed. So it makes logical sense to mark the game as a placeholder at the very least. There will be some who see no sense in signing up now....but they will be the ones who miss out closer to the date, when they are itching to play and the games all fully signed up. You snooze, you lose!
