As you might know fc7 is a club that has not turned down any opportunity to be innovative in their socials wether that’s creating a website or making an Instagram but in my opinion the most exciting is the YouTube space.
When FC7 started to gain followers on Instagram it was obvios that the format of having pictures of a match and scores were working, but I had an idea to get actual footage.
It started with one camera (an old phone camera) that they would put up and record the game with the first actual game video was Johns testimonial return which at the time of writing sits on 137 views. For being the first video we were over the moon we realised the potential this format had.
The next game we created an actual style of editing with the distortion intro music(picked by MangoSofieCow) and scores at the end. They would go to the match play for the now 2 cameras and SongFish would collect the footage for editing. Then he would have to come up with a style for the video the music had to be sorted and the outro and score had to be done this was not officiant as the edits had to be out by the Sunday. Never the less the video was posted and sits on 130 views.
This is when I was called in to be the official Head Of YouTube Affairs at this point I had been the main force for farting the stats and so on. The new format from Monday to Wednesday Songfish could work on an intro/outro and could get the music done and would send it to me as a CrockEdit (don’t ask why) I could judge and help with any edits needed to be done. When they play on the Thursday they could record now with their rig and could be exported to the video editor the Thursday night.
On the Friday the footage would be put in and any tweaks would be done for the Saturday night where it would be posted for Sunday. It was a lot of work for 120 views.
At this point we had realised we had started gaining a following from Asia and our demographic was mainly Males so by using these stats our next edit would be dropped with a better rig and better editing software (filmora pro) we posted it anxiously as our last two edits had been lower than our first…but we had done it over the Saturday night we had gotten 50 views then through out the Sunday we realised how successful this was and right now it sits on a staggering 171 views as of this day (number 3)
At this point there’s no need to go over every edit independently so here’s an over view
The next two edits would get 125 views and 138 views about average
Then we entered a drought we didn’t have footage and our edit was highlights of other edits so it flopped on a low low 55 views which proved that our other edit where clearly better quality.
After that flop we pushed through and got an edit with 137 views out.
But then after a bad edit again (most likely due to how the views had been fluctuating a lot) we hit 82 views
Then 101 (which is quite bad)
Then 87
After a long thought we went through with the tried and trusted formula of the crockedit and put out an amazing edit that I think is a testimony to how we can bounce back from failure as the edit reached 145
Our next edit was decent at 113
The following was trash at 81 views you must accept when you have flopped and that one failed.
Then we made the anniversary kit video in my opinion the best video where we reached 130 views bang on average.
The next edit reached 145 views very good and then the anniversary game edit reached 148 views with the video after that being at 175 views an all time high.
If you don’t know about 2G its gonna be the second game for the best of fc7 and the usual days will be a laid back fcse7en game with two Edits every week it’s going to be hard and we will have to persevere personally it’s worth it and our first 2g edit is on 98 views after less than a day of being out.
I’m closing this long long blog by giving credits to both SongFish the editor and the hardest worker in the team and MangoSofieCow who works tirelessly finding new interesting songs and themes for the edits
The End
