Life under Lockdown - The Cardboard Cutouts

I had to cover this as it's so funny. The German Bundesliga got into it's 2nd week schedule of games after a successful restart. All games are behind closed doors, but some clubs are coming up with novel ways to "fill out" their stadiums.

Borussia Monchengladbach (try saying that after a few tequilas!) have decided to put up cardboard cutouts of their fans in their stadium. Who says inventiveness has disappeared under lockdown. Sadly, it didn't help as they were well beaten by Bayer Leverkusen 3-1.

Danish side AGF Aarhus are going to trial a virtual grandstand. Giant screens and using Zoom to dial in various fans from the city and around the world, so they can watch the game and cheer on too. There will also be digital stewards, so they can keep an eye out for unruly language. It seemed to work really well, here are a few pics from the Aarhus vs Randers game:

Thumbs down though for FC Seoul, who landed a £66000 fine for using sex dolls in their games behind closed doors!
