Thursdays I'm in Love...

Yep, you heard right. THURSDAYS are back !

True, our hand was forced. FootyAddicts no longer had Rocks Lane as a venue...but to be honest, as you can see from the previous article, that was no loss. Rocks Lane had a bad surface, one that had caused injuries to our players. In an ideal world, FA could of put forward a Tuesday 6pm game at Powerleague Shepherd's Bush, but they hadn't......there were rumours they would for September but that remains to be seen.

Given we had to switch from Thursdays due to disquiet from FC7 members......regarding social stuff going on for Thursdays.....was this a backward step.

Well, as Rafa says, these are the facts!

2 weeks in, and we've had an attendance of 10/10.....both times!

That's enough to sell Thursdays to me baby! Also, we had options at Westway, Westminster at 6pm/7pm for 6aside and 8aside games. Planning ahead, it means that Thursdays could also become the day we join a league.

But there's more to this....

...our workplace has Thirsty Thursdays.....but these were scheduled for every other week. In reality, it was whenever they decided...and often advertised on the day. This didn't help anyone wanting to attend and it didn't help us organising football.

Also, people had said that other social activities were taking place on Thursdays, hence it would lower attendance. The reality, or the facts a la Rafa......were that the same people who played n Thursdays, were the same people who made the effort on Tuesdays. So there was no real positive to the change. If anything, the players who play regularly, preferred Thursdays. So once again, it was us, who were pandering to change demanded by people who couldn't be arsed.

Never again!

Football should be for the ones who make the effort. I've lost patience to listening to people offering suggestions all over the park, and talking a lot. Yet when it comes to delivering on pitch, they suddenly disappear. These people have been making too much of an impact than their attendance (or lack of it) demands. From now on, I only really care for the people who regularly play.

Recently i've also been to flexible in catering to our work employees. They are lazy at best, I've made my feelings clear on how this reflects on their day-to-day jobs. This was always about FC7, creating a community, transcending culture, art, fashion with football. Those who can't be invested in this ethos, have no say in it's running. Sit at home, talking, offering suggestions and essentially dying, while the rest of us play....live....

Thursdays are here to stay! Thursdays I'm in LOVE!
